Trained as a graphic designer, Louise Fischer Cozzi of Brooklyn, New York, went on to pursue fiber and polymer clay art, eventually developing her unique array of jewelry and accessories. She has been working in polymer since 1991 and her love for typography and fiber arts informs her current work, in which she forms simple sophisticated shapes of translucent clay and infuses them with layers of texture and color to suggest infinite depth. She calls her signature style "Translucent Colors", adding metallic techniques, silk screening and image transfer to her recent pieces.
Cozzi’s award winning pieces and articles have appeared in Belle Armoire, Bead and Button, and Lapidary Journal, as well as numerous books. She shows and sells her work at galleries across the country. Besides her success as a jewelry artist, she also teaches both nationally and internationally to all ages and levels, appreciating the symbiotic relationship between creating and teaching.
