JEFFREY HUMMEL: Coffee Table, "Pangaea"

"Pangaea". Coffee table, cherrywood with brushed aluminum base. Dimensions: 45" long x 31" wide x 15-1/2" tall. Jeffrey describes how the design of this table came about: "During the Mesozoic Period, all the current continents were once connected to one another to form a subcontinent called Pangaea. Through plate tectonics, the pieces formed faults and drifted apart to their current positions. My concept is that the table pieces were once one piece and have drifted apart due to faults in the wood. The aluminum legs are the lines the drifting pieces are following."
