The Island Gallery
carlos sosa

Carlos Sosa, a native of Massachusetts, first became involved with carpentry and woodworking when he helped his father restore a 28 foot wooden Samurai Sloop. For the past ten years he has been working with wood in Wyoming, Alaska, New Mexico and Washington.

Carlos creates furniture from salvaged wood native to the Northwest, including Western Red Cedar, Fir and Western Walnut. He works in the spirit of Nakashima, incorporating the live edge of the wood in his designs. His pieces include dining tables, occasional tables, benches, bedroom suites, bookcases, and mantles.
