John retired as an engineering manager from Boeing where he developed advanced technologies such as high-powered laser and hypervelocity impact vehicles. He also enjoyed getting out into the wilderness, whether above or below the water.
My twin interests in science and nature result in many of my turnings demonstrating patterns in nature that have a mathematical elegance. These patterns can range in size from a galaxy that is 50,000 light years in diameter to a creature that is smaller than the period of this sentence.
As a wood artist, John has been juried into the Bellevue Arts Museum Arts Fair and was selected for an Achievement of Excellence award in that event. He has also been featured at the BAM Gift Store, and exhibited at the Northwest Fine Woodworking Gallery where he also received a prize in the Box and Container competition. He has exhibited at galleries in both Washington and Oregon.
