Pam Christiansen is an accomplished artist in a variety of media. The diversity of textures, colors and shapes in the physical world inspire her drawings, prints, fabric designs, and book illustrations. She is influenced by an eclectic group of artists, from aboriginal to cubists, art deco to Indonesian textile designers.
In 2016, while visiting the Picasso Museum in Barcelona, Pam was so inspired by the underlying structure of Picasso’s and other cubist’s art that it led her back to pen and ink drawings. She explored building line upon line to create recognizable organic structures. With nature-based themes interwoven into geometric forms, the drawings developed into a network of evocative shapes and shades.
Pam lives and works on Bainbridge Island in Washington State.
