Shipping & Returns

Shipping Fees/Payment Options/Returns - UPDATED 6/21/18:

We have streamlined our shipping policies: FLAT RATE shipping features now apply to many listed items (see exceptions below) rather than weight-based fees.

What This Means:

-A flat rate of $10.00 per order will be charged at checkout.

-Primary carrier: USPS (Priority mail when possible). Contact the Gallery if you prefer an alternate carrier.


- “Call for Freight” items – indicates shipping will exceed flat rate; must contact the Gallery prior to purchase. (Generally applies to most Furniture, Sculpture, Visual Art, and large or extremely fragile Ceramic items.)

-Multiple items purchased, where actual shipping far exceeds flat rate: you will receive an invoice via PayPal for additional charges prior to shipping -OR- contact the Gallery prior to purchase.

-Item qualifies for free shipping. This is indicated in the individual listing.

Payment Options: The Island Gallery online shop accepts payments via PayPal or one of the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. For other options, or to order by phone, please contact the Gallery.

Packing, Handling & Insurance: The Island Gallery takes extra special care in shipping all of its pieces. All items are shipped either via USPS or UPS, fully insured. Fragile or extra-fragile pack will be used when the item requires special attention. All weights shown reflect actual weight of the item plus packing materials. All packing, handling and insurance costs are included in the shipping fee. As a general rule, ceramics and paintings require extra-fragile pack; baskets, bowls and boxes require fragile pack; and clothing and jewelry require standard pack.

Ships Within Dates: Most items will be shipped from the Gallery within 5-7 business days from date of receipt of funds. Ship dates on Made-To-Order purchases, custom or special orders may vary; for further information, see individual product descriptions, or contact the gallery.

Ships To: At this time, The Island Gallery ships through the on-line shop only within the United States. International orders: Please contact the Gallery directly to make shipping arrangements.

Taxes: Sales tax is added to orders shipped within Washington State.

Carrier: All items (possibly excluding large furniture, sculpture or paintings) are shipped via USPS or UPS on their regular schedules. Please contact the Gallery to arrange expedited shipping and further information.

Large Items: The Gallery will work with customers on securing proper crating and freight methods for large items. All large furniture sales are final.

We are happy to be able to ship wooden furniture and slabs anywhere in the US at very reasonable rates through Plycon Movers. Simply contact the gallery and we will provide a specific quote for your shipping destination within 24-48 hours.

Returns: The Island Gallery will accept returns on qualifying items when the Gallery is, within 7 days of customer's receipt of merchandise, (a) notified of intention to return, or (b) items are physically received back in the Gallery. Return shipping fees are the responsibility of the customer. Item(s) must be accompanied by receipt (computer generated or packing invoice sent with purchase). Item(s) returned must be in same condition as shipped.
